About Mix Bed Plant
A Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Plant (Mix Bed Plant) is a high-purity water treatment system used to produce demineralized (DM) water with very low conductivity by removing almost all dissolved ions from water. It contains a mixture of cation exchange resin and anion exchange resin in a single vessel, providing a final polishing treatment after RO/DM processes.
Working Principle
In a Mix Bed Plant, pre-treated water passes through a vessel containing a mixture of:
Strong Acid Cation Resin (H⁺ form) – removes positive ions like Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, etc.
Strong Base Anion Resin (OH⁻ form) – removes negative ions like Chloride, Sulphate, Bicarbonate, Silica, etc.
The released H⁺ ions and OH⁻ ions combine to form pure water (H₂O), resulting in high-quality demineralized water.
